This is not mass production. This is art. Each of these exquisite jewellery boxes takes over 8 hours to create, with hundreds of tiny wooden pieces – some as small as 2mm x 2mm – individually placed by hand with tweezers to create a stunning two-tone inlaid filigree design.

The intricate scrollwork pattern adorns the lid and all four sides of the box, with each piece of the cut-through design carefully inlaid with contrasting wood. But here's what makes this truly extraordinary: every single piece is placed in its exact original position to keep the wood grain running true. When we cut these boxes, each tiny piece that's removed from one wood type is immediately placed in its exact position on the contrasting wood box. A piece removed from position 47 on the walnut box goes into position 47 on the ash box, and vice versa. This painstaking process ensures the grain flows naturally across the entire design, creating a harmonious visual effect that's impossible to achieve any other way.

With pieces as small as 2mm x 2mm, this work requires tweezers, excellent lighting, steady hands, and frankly, the patience of a saint. (We won't lie – there may have been some choice words muttered in the workshop during the making of these boxes!) But the result is absolutely worth it: a jewellery box that's a genuine work of art.
